What's a generic feature?
RV Dee's RV4.US uses a method for applying features to RV Models that allows for the Top Ten engine to work properly. Basically, the features that you may see on an RV model in this site are simplified. RV Manufacturers will often use specialty, trademark or just plain made up names for a particular feature. In order to make looking for an RV Model simpler, the terms used for features and Top Ten items are simplified.

Bath, Second (2nd) Full | This model has two full bathrooms. |
Ceramic/Porcelain Toilet | Toilet made of ceramic or porcelain. |
Comfort Height Toilet | Toilet bowl that is 17" to 19" in height. |
Dual Sinks | One of the bathrooms has dual sinks. |
Linen closet | Closet with deep shelves, for bedding, towels, etc. |
Macerating toilet | Toilet that uses a macerating pump to grind solid waste into a liquid. |
Medicine Chest/Cabinet | Location to store items in the bathroom that is easily accessible and protected from humidity. This is usually a cabinet above the sink. |
Shower Seat | A built in seat in the shower. |
Toilet with Sprayer | Bidet type appliance assisting with cleansing using a sprayer. |
Tub | This model has a fully functional tub in the bathroom. |
Vessel sink | This model has one or more vessel sinks in the bathroom. These are sinks that are mounted on top of the counter, rather than sunk into the counter like regular bathroom sinks. |
Ceiling Fan - Bedroom | There is a ceiling fan in the bedroom. |
Dresser, with drawers | This model has a dresser, in the bedroom and/or closet with drawer storage for clothing. |

Full Queen Bed | The model has a full size queen bed, 60 inches wide and 80 inches long. |
Hanging Clothes Storage | This model has a location for hanging clothes. |
Has Bunk Beds | Two single beds, one above the other. |
King Bed | Full king size mattress, 76 inches wide and 80 inches long. |
Nightstands | A small, low bed-side table, usually has drawers. |
Reading Lights Bed | This model has reading lights over the bed. |
Short King Bed | Often advertised as a King Bed, this bed is shorter or not as wide as a standard King Bed. |
Short Queen Bed | Queen bed that is usually the normal 60” wide, but is less than 80" in length. |
Twin Bed | Twin bed, not bunks |
Under Bed Storage | This model has a way to store things under the bed. This could be a way to lift the bed to access, or have pull out storage from underneath. |
Walk-in closet | This model has a walk-in closet, usually next to the master bedroom. Many manufacturers call their closets walk-in, however, if you can't walk in and close the door, we don't consider it so. |
3 Season Patio Doors | Doors suited for use during spring, summer and autumn. |
30 Amp Service | This model requires 30 Amp service at camp sites in order to run the entire electrical load. |
50 Amp Service | This model requires 50 Amp service at camp sites in order to run the entire electrical load. |
7K Axles | Each axle can hold up to 7,000 LBS. |
8K Axles | Each axle can hold up to 8,000 LBS. |
Airbags | Safety device consisting of a cushion that will inflate rapidly in the event of a crash. Designed to protect passengers from colliding with the vehicle structure. |
Automated Ride Levelers | Automated levelers, usually for vehicles equipped with an airbag suspension, to level the vehicle while in motion. |
Black Tank Washer/Flush | This model has a connection that allows for the black tank to be flushed and/or washed out with fresh water. |
Diesel Engine | This model is powered by a engine that uses diesel fuel instead of gasoline. |
Diesel Pusher | This model is driven by a diesel engine that is located at the rear of the RV, like a bus. |
Disc Brakes | Vehicle brake that uses the break pads to create friction against the disk. |
Double (Dual) Pane Windows | Window that has two panes of glass set in the frame. The panes are separated, creating an air pocket for insulation. |
Double Axle | The rig has two sets of axels. |
Driver Side Door (Motorcoach) | Door for entering and leaving the drivers seat in a motor coach. (Class A) |
Engine/Jake Brake | Diesel engine brake that cuts off fuel flow and interrupts the transfer of mechanical energy to the drive mechanism. |
Front Entrance | Entrance at the front of the rig. |
Front Entrance, Behind Seat | This model has the main entrance door behind the passenger seat instead of in front of the seat like many bus models. This applies to a Class A RV. |
Fully electric coach | No use of propane, only electricity. |
Garage | This model has a garage that is designed for storing small vehicles, such as motorcycles, ATVs, etc. |
Garage flooring | The garage in this model has special chemical resistant flooring. |
Garage Tie-Downs | Hooks to attached ratchet straps to hold down objects. Motorcycles, bikes, etc. |
Gooseneck | Trailer that is curved like a goose neck. |
Heated Basement | Storage underneath the rig that is insulated and heated. |
Heated Holding Tank Area | This model has heated holding tank are. This usually implies that the area is only heated when the unit has the internal heat running. |
Hitch light | This is a light that is mounted on the front of the unit which will shine on the location where the hitch ball/puck meets the trailer. |
Hitch Receiver | This unit has a hitch receiver on the back so that it can pull a trailer. |
Integrated power cord | Power cord that is connected with it's load. |
Kingpin | The main pivot in the steering mechanism of the rig. |
Mid Entrance | Entry point in the middle of the rig. |
MORryde Suspension System | This can range from their patented suspension systems, the RL and RS, all the way up to four-corner, air-ride suspension systems. They also offer installations of other components including leaf springs, coil springs, helper springs, lift blocks and driveline brakes, along with alignment service. |
On Demand Hot Water Heater | Instantly heats water as it flows and does not retain any water storage. |
Power Inverter | A device which converts direct current into alternating current. |
Push Out Windows | Casement windows that push out by hand. |
Rear Entrance | This model has an entry point at the rear. |
Removable Propane Tanks | Whether this model has propane (LP) tanks that can be removed from the rig and filled separately. |
Roof - One-Piece | This model has a roof design where one piece of material is used to cover the entire roof. This usually refers to the roof covering, not the main construction of the roof itself. |
Roof - Walk On | This model has a roof that can safely be walked on. |
Roof composition - Fiberglass | This model has a roof that is made from molded fiberglass. |
Roof composition - Rubber | The roof of the unit is made of rubber. |
Roof composition - TPO | The roof on this model is a Thermo Plastic Olefin (TPO) material. |
Roof Vent Covers | This model has covers over the roof vents. This is necessary if the vents do not have automatic rain detection to close automatically, or are manually opened and closed. |
Roof Vent(s) | This model has roof vents that may or may not have a built in fan |
Roof Vent(s), Power | This model has roof vents that are opened and closed remotely. |
Roof Vents, Rain Sensing | Exhaust vent that will close during inclement weather, and reopen once dry. |

Solar Prep | This model has the wiring and connectors in place to make implementing solar charging much easier and less expensive. |
Tank Heaters | This model has tank heaters to keep the tanks from freezing in very cold temperatures. This is an alternative if the underbelly is not ducted for heat from the furnace. It also allows for the tanks to be heated when the main furnace may not be running. |
Tire Pressure Monitoring | This model has a system for monitoring tire pressure on the trailer. This is an early warning system for potential tire issues. |
Triple Axle | This model has three axles to distribute the weight. |
Water Filtration System | This model has a built in water filtration system. |
Water Heater, (12) Gallons or more | This model has has at least a Twelve (12) gallon hot water heater tank. |
Entertainment System | This model has some sort of entertainment system with speakers. It may only be an AM/FM radio, however, usually has the ability to play CDs, DVDs etc. |
Exterior Entertainment System | Outdoor sound system. This may only be outdoor speakers that are connected to the interior entertainment system. |
Multiple DVD | DVD player that can house more than one disc. |
Overhead TV | TV that comes down from 'over head.' |
Satellite Dish | Dish outside the unit used to receive satellite signal. |
Satellite Prep | Wired for a satellite dish. |
Single DVD / BluRay | DVD player that can hold one at a time. |
Smart TV | A internet-enabled TV used for paid and free apps. |
TV - Bedroom or Prep | This model either has a TV in the bedroom, or at least has the preparations for a TV, such as cabling and possibly a mounting bracket. |
TV - Exterior or Prep | This model has a TV on the exterior of the rig, or at least has the preparations, such as cabling and possibly a mounting bracket. |

Automatic Tongue Jack | Automatically raises and lowers the front of the rig. |
Awning Lighting | Lighting attached to the awning(s). |
Backup Camera | Attached to the rear of the rig. For assistance backing up. |
Backup Camera Prep | Pre-wired, and has housing to install a backup camera. |
Basement Storage | Storage underneath the rig, accessed from a door on the exterior. |
Basement Storage Slide-Out | This model has a built-in slide out in at least one of the basement storage areas |
Battery Disconnect | Built into electrical system, allows the operator to completely disconnect electrical current. |

Gas Nozzle | Model has a gas nozzle for dispensing gas from holding tanks for toys. |
Generator/Prep - Diesel | Generator that runs using diesel fuel. This is usually only available on a Class A unit that runs on diesel fuel. |
Generator/Prep - Gas | Generator that runs using gasoline. This are usually available on models that run on gasoline. Also on toy hauler trailers and fifth wheels. |
Generator/Prep - Propane | Generator that runs using propane. This is the preferred option available for most unmotorized models. |
H Rated Tires | Tires with a sixteen ply rating load. |
Hose reel | Cylindrical spindle used for the storage of a hose. |
Hydraulic Jacks / Leveling | This model has hydraulic jacks for leveling the unit at a camp site. |
Integrated barbecue | This model has a barbecue attached. |
Outdoor Kitchen | This model has a kitchen outside. This is usually a gas stove with a sink as well. Some models also have a small refrigerator. If there is no sink, we would consider this an Outside Grill. |
Outdoor Refrigerator | This model has a refrigerator that is accessible from outside. Often as part of an outdoor kitchen, but not always. |
Outside Grill | This model has an outside grill that is either mounted on the RV, or can be mounted on the RV in some way. This includes a gas stove that is present without a sink. If there was a sink, we would consider it an Outdoor Kitchen. |
Outside Shower | Water sprayer / Shower for use outside the rig. |
Pass Through Storage | Storage area with access on two sides. |
Power Awnings | Awnings that are controlled electronically. |

Office/Desk area | This model has a dedicated space for an office. |

Flip-Up Counter | Counter that flips up and locks in place, for space saving purposes. This may also be a slide out countertop extension in some models. |

Free standing dinette | Dining equipment that remains in place without being tied or bolted down. |
Front Kitchen | This model has the front of the unit dedicated for a kitchen. |
Glass Cooktop | Cooking appliance that heats using a magnetic field or electric coils under a smooth glass surface |
Granite counter tops | Counters that consist of granite. |
Ice maker | An appliance for making ice cubes. |
Kitchen island | Free standing cabinetry, supplements counter space. |
Microwave | Appliance used for heating food items quickly using electromagnetic radiation. |
Microwave/Convection Combo | Dual appliance combination of an oven and a microwave. |
Oven | Cooking appliance that is either conventional or convection. |
Pantry | Dedicated space for food storage. |
Pendant lighting | Lighting that hangs down from the ceiling. |

Solid surface counter tops | This model has solid surface countertops. These are, or similar to Corian used in residential kitchens. Solid surface refers to the fact that there are no visible seams between pieces of the countertop. |
Spice Rack | This model has a built in spice rack in the kitchen area. |
Tile backsplash | This model has a tile backsplash behind the sink in the kitchen and or stove for easy clean ups. |
Undermount sink | This model has a sink that is installed under the countertop, rather than having the edge of the sink resting on the top of the counter. |
Wine Cooler | This model has a dedicated wine cooler (refrigerator) built in. |
